文句解釋：

這是一首有關於自然的詩，開頭的”The world is too much with us”意為－”這世界對我們來說實在太沉重了”。 這世界近來正在緩慢的變化著。我們不斷揮霍浪費自身感官能力在那些不重要的瑣事上，因此，漸漸地我們再也不能感受到大自然屬於我們，我們喪失了本心，這是多麼悲慘的恩惠阿! (這裡的”Sordid boon”是一個Paradox(弔詭)，意為我們把本心給予出去這件事是一個悲慘的恩惠。)

這裡的sea跟wind都屬於大自然的一切，但我們已經跟這一切脫節了，大自然再也無法感動我們了

如果是這樣，我寧可當一個異教徒堅守陳舊的教條，如此一來，或許我又可以再次站上那令人愉悅的草地，遠眺四周，那將使我少了點寂寥。
★作者說他寧願當個異教徒的原因是，因為異教徒所信奉的神都是關於自然的，如海神、月神，本詩末兩句的Triton 跟Proteus是指海神的兒子,也都跟異教徒信奉的神有關。

心得：
這學期修文學作品讀法這堂課讓我學到了很多東西，我們學到了很多關於詩的形式，還有很多不同詩人的詩作，甚至是一些好聽的西洋歌，我很喜歡課堂上放的那些歌曲，真的很好聽，有些詩也帶給我不同的人生體驗，像是有關死亡跟自然的詩，此外，我們每週都會寫一篇journal，對當週所上的詩寫一些自己感想，除了寫感想也可以跟同學互相分享及回應，我覺得這是一件非常好的事，因為詩本來就是會根據不同人而有不同的解讀方式，我很開心能夠修文淇老師的課，學到了很多豐富、有趣的詩。
